I’m still participating in the Facebook Fragrance Friends alphabetical Scent of the Day theme. Here are my perfumes I wore this week:
Sunday: Perversion by Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab
Smoky rum and black tobacco with a whisper of steamy leather with a splash of crystalline chardonnay, layered over a sensual, sweet, and deceptively magnetic base of tonka.
This is one of my favorites from BPAL. It’s so unique, and I always giggle when someone asks what I’m wearing.
Monday: Queen Crossbones by Arcana
Creamy Egyptian musk, wild honey, sweet coconut, and exotic resins.
Queen Crossbones is my all-time favorite from anywhere. Indie, designer, niche, ANYwhere. It’s silky, sexy, sweet… it’s the one that makes my eyes roll back in my head, it’s so good.
Tuesday: Red Fyre by Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie
A bevy of cinnamon EOs and a four-sugar blend, plus piquant black pepper EO and licorice root extract, finished with smooth amber resin.
Before I had this perfume, I never thought I would want to smell like cinnamon. I mean, I like cinnamon. But I just never thought of it as a perfume scent. This is so interesting, though. The blend of notes is just genius.
Wednesday: Stash by SJP
An unexpected fusion of cedarwood atlas, vetiver, and pistachio.
Stash was a blind buy, after much raving from FFF. It’s woody, and kind of spicy. Definitely unisex, and kind of a Autumn/Winter type of scent.
Thursday: Totem Tiger by Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie
A fruity and spicy mélange of apricot, passionfruit, papaya, ginger and nutmeg adorned with peppery carnation and a woody base of vetiver, cypress, balsam and cedar topped with a dash of vanilla and a drop of African coffee.
I picked this one for two reasons: all the Tiger King mania, and because it smells very similar to Stash. I don’t pick up much of the fruity notes. It smells mostly like wood and spices to me.
Friday: Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens
Black vanilla absolute, licorice, sandalwood, coconut milk, beeswax, caramelized benzoin, bitter almond, Gaiac wood, tonka bean
I have a travel spray of this one, from FragranceNet. It’s a soft, creamy vanilla. The licorice and coconut milk really round it out.
Saturday: Vixen by Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab
The innocence of orange blossom tainted by the beguiling scents of ginger and patchouli.
I had an aged imp (sample) of this and it was heavenly! I bought a bottle, and while it’s wet on my skin, I get a lot of the orange blossom and ginger. Once it dries down, there’s more patchouli, and that’s when I love it. However, I’m not sure if I’ll keep it.
Hope you all are staying safe during this time! Make sure to take time to fill your cup, and if perfume makes you happy, wear it! Tell me what you’re wearing in the comments below:
