Scents of the week Aug 16 – Aug 22

This week’s theme on Facebook Fragrance Friends was Fruit Salad. We were supposed to pick our fruitiest scents to wear. I don’t have a lot of fruity scents, so I had to dig through my samples, lol.

Sunday: Clean Reserve’s Blonde Rose
Top Notes: Aldehydes, Water Accord
Middle Notes: Rose, Peony, Jasmine
Base Notes: Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Musk

The theme of the week was posted late, so I just picked something that fit my mood and the weather. It has been in the triple digits here, and I wanted something light and airy. Blonde Rose is in a similar vein to Chloé. It’s a fresh, clean rose.

Monday: Cougar Potion by Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie
Sweet tangy Pink Grapefruit, silky White Amber and sultry White Musk, plus a trio of Pink and White Sugars
Cougar Potion is a very unique scent. It’s tangy, yet soft. Crisp, yet smooth. I like to wear it in hot weather, I feel like it just shines. I gave away my big sample, I need to get another one.

Tuesday: Angel eau Croisière 2019 by Mugler
Mango, grapefruit, black currant, patchouli and praline accords.
I’m still a Mugler newbie, but I do love a lot of their scents. This is a very pretty perfume, fruity and sweet. The bottle is gorgeous, but I’m happy with just a sample.

Wednesday: Phero Charged Money Potion by Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie
A luscious heart of tart pomegranate, with additional notes of peach, apple, papaya, pear, blackberry and ripe apricot, plus juicy plum and a squeeze of tangy pink grapefruit, blended with a sweet drizzle of butterscotch and a touch of green leaf accord for added freshness.
This is the first perfume I thought of when I saw the fruit salad theme. It’s just perfect. I love this scent, it’s fruity and creamy, without being overly sweet. It has good longevity for a fruit scent.

Thursday: Angel eau Croisière 2020 by Mugler
Magnolia, fig milk, patchouli and praline.
Surprisingly, I don’t love this one more than the 2019 version. I love magnolia, but I don’t get it that much in here. From the notes, I thought I’d like this one more. Maybe I’ll have to try them side by side again.

Friday: Badgley Mischka EDP
Soft magnolia, jasmine and peony are brought to life by light iris, neroli and pink pepper. The blend is rounded out by the warm notes of musk, amber and sandalwood.
I know, this isn’t a fruity scent. By this time, I was bored with the theme, lol. I have a Scentbird decant of this, and I really like it. It’s light, and elegant – I feel so fancy wearing it. It’s been unbearably hot here, and the smoke from the wildfires settles in our valley, so I just wanted something that felt airy and easy.

Saturday: Aliya by Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie
A super tangy heart of sour peach slathered with luscious vanilla cream, plus a light drizzle of orange blossom honey and a sprinkle of sparkling pink sugar, swaddled in gauzy white musk.
I came back to the fruit theme for the last day, lol. I am NOT a peach perfume kind of gal. But this is my favorite peach scent. It’s long gone – a limited edition, like most of LPMP’s scents. It’s just so beautiful, I kind of wish I had gotten a bottle.

This was a fun summery theme. What are your favorite fruity scents? Tell me in the comments below:

  1. Hi Molly,
The only outright fruity perfumes I can think of that I like are fig perfumes, especially Annick Goutal Ninfeo Mio, although I’ve mostly thought of fig as its own category somehow. Otherwise I like several rose perfumes with an accompanying fruity (peach or pear) note. I can also definitely relate to getting tired of wearing the same category for a whole week, particularly if it isn’t one of your favorites to begin with! The Angel eau Croisières you described sound interesting. Have a great week!
